
Twist Bioscience announced that their CEO and co-founder, Emily Leproust, Ph.D., has been awarded the 2020 Rosalind Franklin Award for Leadership. The award will be given by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) at their IMPACT conference next week.
Emily Leproust helped to found Twist Bioscience with Bill Peck in 2013. Stephanie Batchelor of BIO stated on awarding Emily the award, “Emily Leproust is a driven, authentic and thoughtful leader, disrupting the synthetic biology marketplace; she actively works with industry and government leaders to drive innovation and further the bioeconomy.”
The award was named after Rosalind Franklin, who was a trailblazer in the molecular analyzation of DNA, RNA, and viruses. She made a major impact in the advancement of biotechnology. Emily Leproust on receiving the award:
