Cue Health is launching a direct-to-consumer virtual health platform to get its molecular COVID-19 test in as many hands as possible. The company, which made MD+DI’s list of 10 Digital Health Startups to Watch, said it will launch the platform on November 15th.
The platform will be available through Cue’s new eCommerce site and in-app shop. The San Diego, CA-based said beyond COVID-19 testing needs, Cue’s new membership offering – Cue+– will offer members 24/7 on-demand access to board certified physicians, e-prescription services, CDC-compliant test results for travel through in-app video proctoring, and same-day delivery of Cue products in a number of major markets.
The company said the Cue+ membership also enables them to share Cue test results and discuss other health issues with a doctor on-demand within the new Cue Health App.
The Cue platform is integrated with last-mile delivery services so members can get products at home when they need them the most.
And as the anticipated COVID-19 antivirals requiring time-sensitive administration come to market, Cue said it expects to be able to enable consumers to go from test result to physician consultation to antiviral treatment, when appropriate, within the comfort and convenience of their own homes.
COVID-19 has played a significant role in the Cue Health’s growth. In June of last year, the company raised $100 million in a series C round, while waiting for emergency use authorization of its molecular COVID-19 diagnostic. Then in May, Cue closed a private placement of $235 million.
