Convergint Acquires Ojo Technology to Expand Market Capabilities in Northern California

The acquisition is said to expand Convergint’s west coast presence and extend the company’s capabilities in the state, local, education and transportation markets.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Convergint, a global leader in service-based systems integration, announces it has acquired Ojo Technolog, a Northern Calif.-based security systems integrator and leader in video and access control security.

The acquisition is said to expand Convergint’s west coast presence and extend the company’s capabilities in the state, local, education, and transportation markets.

Founded in 2003, Ojo Technology specializes in enterprise, tier-one, network-centric, physical and Cloud-based systems. The company works with all major municipal districts in Northern California, including more than 30 of the region’s cities and counties and the majority of local school districts.

“Ojo Technology is a recognized leader in its local market, with deep network and Cloud experience, and a solid reputation as an exceptional service provider. We’re thrilled to welcome Angie Wong and her team to Convergint,” says Sean Flint, executive vice president of Convergint. “Ojo’s longstanding commitment to empowering women in security and passion for diversity, equity and inclusion is a natural fit for our priorities at Convergint and well-aligned with our values and beliefs.”

As an Asian female-owned business focused on empowering women in the security industry, Ojo has received accolades from the San Francisco Business Times and multiple security publications.

“Convergint’s focus on corporate culture, specifically its ongoing efforts to build and empower a diverse and inclusive workplace, makes it the right fit for Ojo,” says Angie Wong, president, Ojo Technology. “By joining forces with Convergint, we’ll be able to expand our market-leading capabilities and take advantage of expanded resources to deepen our service delivery for both new and existing customers.”

The deal marks Convergint’s first acquisition since April, when it acquired Ohio-based integrator Systems 28.
