ASSA ABLOY to Fold ALCEA Into Critical Infrastructure Business

“With the acquisition of ALCEA we will have the ability to put our strategy around access-centered solutions into practice. Our aim is to be the global go-to brand in critical infrastructure protection environments,” said Jorma Issakainen, senior vice president, critical infrastructure, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions.

ALCEA’s flagship security monitoring solution, ALWIN, is certified for critical infrastructure by the National Cybersecurity Agency of France, Agence nationale de la sécurité des systèmes d’information (ANSSI). The certification is a requirement for critical infrastructure access control solutions in France.

“ALCEA has strong vertical-specific access control expertise, especially for the telecommunications and transportation industries, that is perfectly in line with our critical infrastructure strategy,” Dominique Jardin, business director, France, critical infrastructure, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions.

The ALWIN supervision solution is based on a modular and open software, which is accompanied by ALCEA-manufactured automation and electronic control cards to drive different devices: accesses, surveillance cameras, intrusion detection sensors and area surveillance devices. ALWIN already has integrations to ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio and CLIQ solutions. Also, third-party components can be connected to ALWIN. Keyless ABLOY BEAT integrations will be introduced soon, according to an announcement.
