[SDM Magazine – 12/8/20] ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions announced two new partner integrations today. The first is the integration of their Aperio wireless lock technology with vIDix Control, a security management system from Ban-Koe Companies.
“Integration with the Aperio locksets provides vIDix Control customers with the ability to extend electronic access to areas of their facility that are typically off limits to a wired solution,” said Steve Lohman, workplace security solutions product advocate, Ban-Koe Companies.
The Aperio integration offers vIDix Control customers an easy way to connect additional openings to their new and existing installations. Aperio is a global wireless platform that works with extensive locking hardware options from ASSA ABLOY Group brands, offering the flexibility to address a variety of applications throughout any facility. The platform uses wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4) between the lock and an Aperio hub to provide real-time communication to the access control system, simplifying installation and reducing costs.
vIDix Control is a comprehensive security platform, enabling visibility into day-to-day security operations to provide assurance that facilities and personnel are safe and secure. This all-in-one security platform delivers the power to securely manage doors, gates and elevators; view live and recorded video based on events; send mass notifications; manage event status; and more.
“The Aperio integration with vIDix Control combines ease of use with flexibility and scalability to enable comprehensive management for any facility,” said Mark Duato, executive vice president, aftermarket, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas.
The second integration is ASSA ABLOY’s IP-enabled PoE (Power over Ethernet) and Intelligent WiFi access control locks with the Frontier Integrated Platform from Matrix Systems.
Bruce Rogoff, CEO of Matrix Systems, said, “The ASSA ABLOY integration furthers our commitment to open platforms and helping customers secure even more of their facilities. Partnering with ASSA ABLOY gives Matrix the ability to help lower access control costs to the enterprise organizations we serve across the country.”
The IP integration offers end users more options for expanding their physical security system using IP-enabled locks from ASSA ABLOY Group brands Corbin Russwin and SARGENT. The IP-enabled range includes locks that connect to a host system through an existing 802.11b/g/n WiFi network. The range also includes IEEE 802.3af compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) locks that connect to the Local Area Network (LAN) utilizing a single Ethernet cable for both power and data.
The Frontier Integrated Platform by Matrix Systems provides redundancy and reliability to organizations where security is mission critical. Matrix customers include some of the nation’s top airports, universities and healthcare systems.
“The Matrix commitment to delivering the precise level of security an organization needs is an excellent fit for ASSA ABLOY,” Duato said. “The integration with our IP-enabled technology supports that commitment with a solution that makes it easier and more affordable to expand access control deeper into a facility.”
